GPO’s System of Online Access | Collection Development Plan has been updated for fiscal year 2021, and is now available on govinfo. This year’s revision reflects content added to govinfo in FY21 and titles that will be digitized as part of the U.S. Congressional Serial Set project, a multi-year collaborative effort GPO is undertaking with the Law Library of Congress.

The FDLP community is invited to contribute to GPO’s efforts to expand coverage of the National Collection of U.S. Government Public Information in govinfo by contributing digital or tangible content.

Digital Content Contributors support the National Collection by providing digital content that meets GPO specifications for ingest into govinfo. To date, six Federal depository libraries have contributed digitized publications. Learn more about becoming a Digital Content Contributor on the Partnership page.

GPO continues to post materials needed for digitization on the GPO Needs Lists LibGuide. If your depository is weeding any of the volumes listed, and materials are not claimed within your region, please contact [email protected]v to offer materials to GPO.

Current priorities include:

  • U.S. Congressional Serial Set
  • Congressional Directory and Pocket Congressional Directory
  • Congressional Hearings

If your depository is offering materials through FDLP eXchange, your offers will match to GPO’s Needs List automatically if your account is configured to offer nationally. Offering nationally increases the likelihood of keeping weeded material in the National Collection by finding a new home in another depository library or fulfilling GPO’s needs for digitization.

If you are not offering nationally, you can view GPO’s Needs list in the Needs & Offers Repository in FDLP eXchange and use the Message Library feature to offer material to GPO after your regional has approved the material for discard. GPO will cover the cost of shipping materials needed for digitization to GPO.
