The Suggested Core Collection Lists, originally created in 1985 by the depository community and GPO, were designed to support collection development with lists of titles recommended for selection by law libraries and small and medium public and academic libraries.  Large libraries were expected to select all titles on the list for their library type. The lists were last reviewed in 2007, when a group of volunteers from the depository community identified 51% of the item numbers on the list as inactive.
