Federal depository coordinators can now sign into the FDLP Desktop with their library number and internal password to complete the 2011 Biennial Survey. Once logged in, use the “Biennial Survey” menu that appears above the “Upcoming Events” module.

The survey consists of 31 questions and spans 7 pages. Once completed, a copy of your submission is sent to the depository coordinator, approving official, and up to two additional recipients. It is strongly recommended one of the two additional recipients be your regional library. Contact your regional for their preferred email address. Meanwhile, depositories can also view/print their submission from the FDLP Desktop.

All Federal depository libraries are required to complete this survey. Responses must be reviewed and approved by your institution's library director or designee prior to submission. Survey questions were posted in advance so that depositories could prepare their response.

Your response is extremely important. The Biennial Survey provides the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) with important information concerning the conditions of both individual depository libraries and the depository library program as a whole. This data is used to administer the program and to assist in the assessments of the conditions and services of depository libraries.

All Federal depository libraries were required to complete the 2011 Biennial Survey by October 31, 2011.
