For the tenth year, GPO Technical Services Librarian Todd Scudiere represented GPO at the Tribal College Librarians Institute where he spent time with tribal college depository librarians and the wider tribal college librarian community.
One of GPO’s most significant jobs ever was the printing of the preliminary version of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862. The final was issued in 1863, but it wasn’t until two years later, on June 19, 1865, that Gen. Gordon Granger and Union soldiers arrived in Texas to announce to enslaved African Americans that they were free.
