This message is posted on behalf of the DLC Chair.

Folks, in an effort to reach out to the Federal depository library community both before and after the Depository Library Council (Council) meetings, Council has been working with GPO to take advantage of the FDLP Community.

I invite everyone to check out the first ever (but humble) blog posting from the chair. The blog features my vision for opening up communications between Council and Federal depository libraries on a year-round basis, rather than just during the spring and fall DLC meetings.

In addition to my blog, I have also posted a list of questions that will dominate the three scheduled plenary sessions at next week's Council meeting. The questions can be found on the FDLP Community's forum.

Use the forum to share your thoughts, read the thoughts of others, and generate new discussions. If you are not going to be able to make it to Buffalo for next week's meeting, or even if you are, we want you to give us feedback on the questions and topics.

I am looking forward to a spirited discussion!

But wait, there is one catch. The FDLP Community site is designed specifically for the Federal depository library community and, as such, requires users to register to utilize the site’s features. Registration is free and easy. Sign up today.

I hope we can boost the number of participants on the FDLP Community site to be roughly equal to the number depository libraries by September 30, 2010! Do your part! An opportunity to contribute to the future of the Program is a terrible thing to waste.

At any time, you can email all of Council by using the FDLP Desktop's DLC contact form. You can you find any of us on the FDLP Community site. We are all members of the Community, or respond to the ongoing DLC Chair blog.
