A webinar, “Congressional Publications: An Overview,” will be offered on Thursday, February 20, 2014.

The publications of the United States Congress account for approximately 50% of the total cataloging output of the Bibliographic Control section at the U.S. Government Printing Office. They are also the most in-demand publications in the Federal Depository Library Program. This webinar, the first in the GPO Library Technical Services Webcast and Webinar Series, will serve as an introduction to the treatment of congressional publications in the FDLP—how they are acquired, classified, and cataloged—with a special emphasis on changes brought about by the implementation of the Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging standard.
