List of Classes, April 2012

The first print edition of the List of Classes using data in the Depository Selection Information Management System (DSIMS) is being prepared for publication and copies will be distributed to libraries in an upcoming shipment. The PDF version of the print edition has been posted online.

Users will notice some formatting differences and that some features are not available in this edition. Changes include:

New entries are not identified. In previous editions, an asterisk (*) identified new entries (new SuDoc class stems).
A list of SuDoc class stems that were discontinued since the last issue of the List of Classes is not available.
Essential Title annotations are not indicated next to SuDoc class stems and titles.

The feasibility of providing this information in future issues of the List of Classes is being investigated. To identify newly created SuDoc classes and item numbers, access WebTech Notes. For information on essential titles, see Essential Titles for Public Use in Paper or Other Tangible Format.

Additionally, post-migration data cleanup is still underway, so users should expect to find some anomalies in this issue.
