PURL Migration Complete

The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has completed the migration from the OCLC PURL Resolver Software to the PURLZ Resolver Software for its PURL implementation.

PURLs now resolve using two hostnames: purl.fdlp.gov and purl.access.gpo.gov. All new PURLs will use the purl.fdlp.gov address. No actions are required by the library community as part of the migration.

Complimenting the new PURL system will be the launch of an automated PURL referral reporting tool. The launch of the new PURL referral reporting is delayed while traffic to the new system is monitored and reconfigured for optimal server routing. The new PURL referral reporting tool is expected to launch during November 2010.
