Public Printer Visits San Diego Public Library

Public Printer of the United States Bob Tapella recently visited the Central Library of the San Diego Public Library. While in San Diego visiting a GPO Regional Office, he took the opportunity to see the variety of depository services offered and discuss the FDLP with the personnel at the Central Library.

The San Diego Public Library has been serving the public as a Federal depository library since 1895, making it one of the oldest Federal depository libraries in California. Reference service for the library’s 1.6 million government documents is provided primarily by the staff of the Central Library’s Science and Industry Section, who use the collection in service to researchers at the Central Library and in support of the 35 branches of the San Diego Public Library system.
