Update: Depository Library User Survey Deadline Moved Back

The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) recognizes that the launch and timeline of the user survey is problematic for numerous Federal depository libraries for a variety of reasons. Responding to the request from many libraries, GPO discussed moving the deadline for survey submissions with the contractor who is administering the survey. It was determined that the survey could run through February 2011 and GPO could still have preliminary results to report at the Spring Depository Library Council meeting in April.

To assist depositories in promoting the survey, GPO included a package of postcards that contain survey information in shipment boxes. These are to be given to depository users, particularly to those who may want to fill out the survey later from a location other than the library. After December, any remaining cards will have to have ink changes made to reflect the new survey deadline – February 28, 2011.

For libraries wanting a copy of the survey questions, they can be found in the askGPO knowledge base.
