Description

Title: Library Research for Water Resources

Speaker:

  • Emily C. Wild, Chemistry, Geosciences and Environmental Studies Librarian, Princeton University

Description:

The Princeton University Library provides research services and instructional sessions to library users for finding print, digital, and online library materials in geosciences and environmental studies from governments (local, state, Federal, international), societies, consultants, companies, and other information sources specific to the water-cycle components, water-use conveyances, and natural disaster events. This webinar focuses on how to discover information sources and products related to the topics of precipitation, water temperature, water use (water quantity), water-supply systems, surface water, groundwater, water quality, floods, droughts, and hurricanes. Information sources include raw and calculated data, databases, publications, maps, models, and field and laboratory methods. Example research questions and consultation are used to illustrate the history of water resources and how to find and use hydrology materials produced by governments and organizations outside of the traditional commercial publishing and delivery methods to assist you with your next water-resources library research inquiry.
