Action Required: Recall Notice Issued To All FDLP Libraries

  • Last Updated: February 28, 2023
  • Published: December 17, 2015

Numerous historic military registers have been identified as containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII). The U.S. Department of the Navy notified the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) that these volumes should no longer be in the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Please remove these items from your depository collections immediately and destroy them. The Superintendent of Documents issued an official notification letter about this requirement for all Federal depository libraries on December 18, 2015. Once you have removed the materials from your shelves, please complete the Withdrawal Action Form, and confirm that you have either complied with the withdrawal notification or indicate that you do not have these publications in your library’s collections. The deadline to respond is February 5,  2016.
