- Description: This webinar will provide an inside look at the maintenance and publication of the United States Code, the official codification of general and permanent Federal statutory law. The Office of the Law Revision Counsel within the U.S. House of Representatives is responsible for maintaining the U.S. Code. Learn more about the Office and how it goes about the process of updating the U.S. Code to incorporate new laws enacted by Congress. Some historical background will be given to explain why the U.S. Code looks as it does today. We will also explore a few features of the U.S. Code website and learn about how notes added by Code editors can give important context to the statutory text beyond what is printed.
