If you are new to depository operations or have a weeding project in the works, this webinar will give you an overview of the basics of weeding tangible material from your depository collections. The presentation will cover superseded publications, substitution of publications, the five-year rule, and regional discard eligibility. Also covered will be what steps your regional may take to authorize the discards, such as a “needs and offers” or withdrawal list and “eyeballing” the material.
