This webinar is recommended for data users who are familiar with using and accessing American Community Survey (ACS) estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. In this session, you will receive basic guidance on how to compare ACS estimates, whether from earlier years or other geographies. You will also learn how to know if your estimates are comparable with decennial census estimates from 2000 and 2010 years. At the conclusion of this session, viewers will be able to:

    • Understand what margins of error are and why they matter.
    • Explain basic guidelines for comparing ACS one-year and five-year estimates.
    • Accurately compare ACS estimates across time and geographies.
    • Assess whether ACS estimates are comparable with 2000 and 2010 census datasets.
