The Depository Library Council to the GPO Director meets twice a year, in the spring and fall. These meetings, attended by Federal depository library staff and other information professionals, are the largest gatherings devoted to U.S. Government information in the country. Prior to 2001, proceedings were distributed in paper format. As of 2001, proceedings are available online only.

The weeklong Interagency Depository Seminar is generally held in late July/early August. Representatives from a variety of Federal agencies present training and updates on their information products and activities as they relate to Federal depository libraries.

GPO representatives participate in a number of meetings sponsored by other library or government-information organizations. Related documents from these events are housed here.

The Depository Librarians Institute (NDI) is oriented to staff who are new documents librarians or new to Federal depository library management. The NDI addresses topics such as day-to-day management of tangible and digital collections, item selection profiles, and more.
