askGPO Enhancements
LSCM recently released a set of enhancements to the askGPO site:
- A new “Depository Highlights” field in the Federal Depository Library Directory.
- This field is included in all search and export functionality, and depository coordinators can edit the field to indicate areas of interest or depository collection and services strengths for their institution. LSCM is working to assist depositories with identifying their “Depository Highlights.” The search functionality for this field is case sensitive at this time.
- A new “National Collection Service Area” field in the Federal Depository Library Directory.
- This field is also in all search and export functionality, and you can filter your search results using this field.
- The person designated as the depository coordinator has the ability to edit the Depository Coordinator First Name and Last Name fields in the Federal Depository Library Directory under “My FDL.”
- Users who are not logged in and are submitting a question about the FDLP can identify a depository library by searching the library name, institution name, or depository library number.
A short webcast is available explaining and demonstrating these enhancements.
You can find information about askGPO on the askGPO project page and training materials for the site in the FDLP Academy Training Repository.
