GovInfo Collection Development Plan: Version 11 Released

GPO’s System of Online Access | Collection Development Plan for fiscal year 2026 is now available on FDLP.gov. GPO continues to increase access to current and historic content in GovInfo.

Notable additions in FY26 included: 

• Launching the Annual Reports collection.
• Expanding the United States Reports collection to include born-digital volumes contributed by the U.S. Supreme Court.
• Completing the USLM XML project for digitized volumes of the United States Statutes at Large.
• Adding XML for the Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications, 1895-1976.
• Publishing 383 Congressionally Mandated Reports.
• Adding digitally reformatted historic publications, including:
  • 2,087 Serial Set volumes containing 38,656 congressional reports and documents.
  • 2,662 digitized Congressional Committee prints.
  • 15,020 depository shipping lists.
  • 1,441 miscellaneous publications, predominately from the Office of Education (I 16) and Bureau of Education (FS 5.7).

Materials needed for GPO digitization are listed on the GPO Needs List FDLP Resource Guide and in FDLP eXchange. Offering weeded depository material to GPO supports the National Collection of U.S. Government Public Information and increases public access to Government publications.

Current priorities include:

• Code of Federal Regulations
• Depository Shipping Lists and Depository Invoices
• U.S. Nautical Almanac Office series
• Congressional hearings and prints

Another way to support the National Collection is to contribute digitized content to GovInfo.

In FY26:

• Indiana State Library contributed 14 additional volumes of the Decisions of the Department of the Interior and General Land Office in Cases Relating to the Public Lands.
• Boston Public Library contributed over 1,000 congressional hearings.
