  • Speaker: Ashley Dahlen, Senior Outreach Librarian, Library Services and Content Management, U.S. Government Publishing Office
  • Learning outcomes: With fewer copies of tangible material being deposited in Federal depository libraries, and more libraries weeding older Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) collections, we may wonder about the public’s future access to the National Collection of U.S. Government Public Information. Learn about National Collection Service Areas and how they are being used to help secure tangible copies of material across the country, while also providing regional depositories a measure of shelf-space relief. There is a lot of newer vocabulary being used to describe FDLP operations that we will cover, including: Regional Online Selection Authorization, Regional Discard Eligibility, Preservation Stewards, Print Selectors, and more. While the FDLP is shifting its focus to be more digital, access to the tangible format for older and newer material has not been forgotten!
