Website Wednesday: Suggestions for Keeping Your Content Timely & Fresh This Summer
As the 2020 roller coaster ride continues, libraries across the Nation are all in different stages of operation and facing different challenges. This can make it difficult to reach patrons with the Government content they need. Your library’s website and social media accounts are great vehicles to bring Government information to your patrons.
Here are a few ideas for keeping content timely and fresh this summer:
- COVID tips: social distancing ideas, proper use of masks, and hand-washing 101. The COVID-19 FDLP Toolkit has lots of great resources for your patrons.
- Summer safety tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Camping health and safety tips from the CDC.
- Pool Safely information to prevent child drownings.
- Homeschooling resources:
- Educational games and activities from Ben’s Guide to the U.S. Government.
- Homeschooling information and resources from the U.S. Department of State.
- Free educational resources from the U.S. Department of Education.
- Voting and Elections information from USA.gov.
- Census 2020 resources and information
- FDLP Academy Training Repository: hundreds of recorded educational webinars and webcasts organized by subject and agency tags.
