FDLP eXchange Technical Issue – Publication Start Date
GPO has discovered two issues in FDLP eXchange that impact the input and retention of the Publication Start Date field when spreadsheets are uploaded.
The bigger issue is isolated to uploads of long spreadsheets. Spreadsheets containing more than 250 items are uploaded directly into the system without going through the review panel process that allows users to correct errors before the spreadsheet is ingested. Currently, data in the Publication Start field is not being recorded when longer spreadsheets are uploaded. To minimize the impact of this issue, please keep all spreadsheets uploaded into FDLP eXchange to 250 rows or fewer.
The second issue is that the system is incorrectly accepting items with no data in Publication Start, which is a required field. The year is required in this field, while the month and day are optional and can be included where applicable, such as for serial issues. The format for the dates in this field should be YYYY, MM/YYYY, or MM/DD/YYYY. For the occasional publication that does not have an easily identifiable publication date, users should enter “None” in the Publication Start field in a spreadsheet, rather than leaving the field blank.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
