LSCM Welcomes New Chief of Projects and Systems, Ben Petersen

Please join the staff at GPO and in Library Services & Content Management (LSCM) in welcoming Mr. Ben Petersen as the new Chief of Projects and Systems. Ben is leading efforts to assess the technological needs of internal and external customers, develop new applications and services, and is serving as the key lead on strategic technology development. In addition, Ben is managing our partnership program, working closely with existing partners, and leading efforts to identify and cultivate new relationships with Government information stakeholders. He is directing and managing long-range work plans to accomplish the operational goals and strategic objectives for the public information programs of the Superintendent of Documents and the LSCM business unit.

Ben holds a dual master’s degree in Library and Information Science and Public History from the University of South Carolina and is passionate about preservation and digitization of library collections. His past experience includes management in public libraries, including a Federal depository collection; overseeing the preservation of the collections at the National Library of Medicine; and most recently, serving as the Digital Partnerships and Outreach Division Director at the National Archives and Records Administration.
