GPO Director Names Managing Director Of Customer Services

U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern named Ted Priebe GPO Managing Director of Customer Services. As Managing Director of Customer Services, Priebe oversees GPO’s Customer Services business unit, a public/private sector partnership consisting of printing professionals located in Washington D.C., a nationwide network of procurement teams, and private-sector print providers in all 50 States. Customer Services is dedicated to ensuring that GPO Federal customers’ publishing requirements are met with quality products and solutions provided in a timely, cost-effective, and professional manner through a network of private sector printers and publishers nationwide. Priebe previously served as Acting Managing Director of Customer Services.

“Ted has done a great job as the Acting Managing Director of Customer Services since January,” said GPO Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern. “His 30 years at GPO and knowledge of our customers means this important organization is in good hands. He is already exploring ways to improve our long-standing relationship with the printing industry so we can deliver better service to our Federal agency customers.”

Priebe has more than three decades of experience at GPO and assumed the role of Acting Managing Director of Customer Services in January 2023. He has held various management positions at the Agency including Acting Managing Director of Library Services & Content Management, Director of Library Planning and Development, and Assistant Chief of Staff. Prior to serving as Acting Managing Director of Customer Services, Priebe served as Chief of Regional Agency Procurement Services (APS) for more than ten years. In these various management positions, Priebe contributed to operations management and business development, fostered relationships with Government agencies and industry leaders, developed end-to-end procurement solutions, and represented GPO at meetings, conferences, and trade shows.

Priebe received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, with a major in Graphic Arts Management from the University of Wisconsin – Stout.
