- Description: Come celebrate significant contributions to American history during Black History Month by learning about Hiram Rhodes Revels (1827-1901). Attendees will learn about America’s first Black man to serve in the United States Congress, what led him to the Senate, his work in Government, and his professional life after his time in Congress.
