Website Wednesday: Take Advantage of FDLP Virtual Resources
The FDLP network has many resources available to support your library. If you are evaluating additional virtual services for your community or are updating web pages or guides, consider the many resources offered by depositories in your state or region, and use and reference those helpful to your library.
Explore the following when creating or updating resources for your community:
- COVID-19 guidance for libraries and resources for patrons (featured on the FDLP.gov home page)
- FDLP LibGuides, which includes guides about:
- FDLP Basic Collection: Core U.S. Government Resources
- Collections of guides on FDLP Resource Guides, including Coronovirus and Census 2020
- Numerous subjects, such as Health and Medicine, Teaching Resources, and Publications for Children
- Government Information Online: Refer patrons to or send complex questions you haven’t been able to address to the Government Information Online (GIO) Virtual Reference Service, a service coordinated by the ALA GODORT Education Committee and staffed by Federal depository librarians across the country. Although they are also working outside of their libraries, they are still “open for business” and available to answer questions.
- FDLP Guide to Social Media
GPO extends our appreciation to all the libraries providing access to U.S. Government information resources during this challenging time.
