This is a proposed draft revision of Public Policy Statement SOD-PPS-2020-1. This draft revision of the policy recognizes the establishment of the National Collection Service Areas, and their potential role in collection management decisions for regional depository coordinators regarding the discard of publications.
The purpose of this policy is to establish parameters for limiting print distribution to Federal depository libraries and to make digital Government public information accessible through a digital Federal Depository Library Program.
The purpose of this Superintendent of Documents Public Policy Statement (SOD-PPS) is to provide guidance for GPO staff when Congress or a publishing Federal agency requests the withdrawal, withholding, or restriction of access to information products or services available from the Superintendent of Documents’ Public Information Programs (PIPs). This policy is a revision of SOD 110, Withdrawal of Federal Information Products from GPO’s Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) Programs, which became effective July 18, 2011.
