This is a proposed draft revision of Public Policy Statement SOD-PPS-2020-1. This draft revision of the policy recognizes the establishment of the National Collection Service Areas, and their potential role in collection management decisions for regional depository coordinators regarding the discard of publications.
 

The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework to implement flexible and streamlined firsthand investigations of Federal depository libraries, as required by statute. It supersedes SOD 312. This draft version of SOD-PPS-9-2026 was released for public comment.
