FDLP events are designed to highlight Federal information products and services, offer continuing education opportunities, address issues related to the FDLP, share ideas, and provide networking opportunities for the Federal depository community.

Depository Library Council (DLC) Virtual Meetings

The Depository Library Council serves as an advisory committee to the Director, GPO, and the Superintendent of Documents. DLC Meetings are intended to provide a forum for Council members to discuss topics that may result in guidance for the Director, GPO, and the Superintendent of Documents. Members of the Federal depository library community and other information professionals are invited to attend and provide feedback to DLC members.

Federal Depository Library Conference

The Federal Depository Library Conference is a multi-day virtual event. Targeted to Federal depository library staff and other U.S. Government information professionals, the conference is the largest annual gathering devoted to U.S. Government information librarianship in the country.

During the conference, the Depository Library Council meets to provide a forum for Council members, GPO staff, and the audience to discuss topics that may result in DLC guidance to GPO. Conference educational programs include presentations by Federal depository community members, GPO staff, and other U.S. Government information professionals. Sessions are oriented toward a wide range of experience and interests. The conference also features presentations of the Library of the Year and Library Website of the Year Awards, as well as valuable networking opportunities with FDLP colleagues.

Additional GPO Participation

GPO representatives will participate in meetings sponsored by library or government information organizations or in special events, such as depository library anniversary celebrations.

If you would like a representative from GPO to attend or share a congratulatory video, simply fill out our Request for GPO Participation form in advance. To access the form, you must first be logged in to askGPO. From the top menu, click More, and in the drop-down select, Training/Visits Request. Please complete that, and click Submit.

In addition, GPO participates in a variety of other library-related meetings and conferences sponsored by organizations such as the American Library Association (ALA), American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), Special Libraries Association (SLA), Public Library Association (PLA), and FEDLINK.
