The West National Collection Service Area (NCSA) is the western geographic district established by the Superintendent of Documents to meet the requirement, set by the Joint Committee on Printing in 2015, that the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) maintain no fewer than four geographically-dispersed tangible copies of a publication. Library Services & Content Management (LSCM) acknowledges this congressional mandate for distributed print retention and focuses National Collection management services to promote permanent public access in these four NCSAs.
