Title 44 Revision

This version of GPO’s Legislative Proposals supersedes the March 2024 proposals. The substantive changes in the 2025 proposals are privacy protections for users of GovInfo, reporting when content is removed from the National Collection, and agencies providing GPO with metadata for digital agency public information.

On June 24, 2018, the American Library Association Council of the 2018 ALA Annual Conference produced, ‘A Resolution Recognizing the 25th Anniversary of the GPO Access Act and Calling for the Enactment of the FDLP Modernization Act.’

On May 25, 2018, the Congressional Budget Office released the Congressional Budget Office Cost Estimate: H.R. 5305 FDLP Modernization Act of 2018, as ordered by the Committee on House Administration on April 12, 2018.

GPO sent “Comments on Draft Legislation to Amend Title 44, U.S.C. (December 11, 2017 version)” to the Committee on House Administration on January 31, 2018.  This document relays all comments, observations, and concerns with the draft revision to Title 44 as it relates to the Federal Depository Library Program, other Superintendent of Documents programs, and to GPO as an organization.

(February 22, 2018 version)” to the Committee on House Administration on February 27, 2018.  This document relays all comments, observations, and concerns with the draft revision to Title 44 as it relates to the Federal Depository Library Program, other Superintendent of Documents programs, and to GPO as an organization.
