A 13.28: - Forest Service OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) Maps
These folded brochures include a map on one side and other textual information on the other. The practice has been established to classify these as maps at A 13.28:. For consistency, continue the practice.
AE 2.106/3: - Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
Some titles of the CFR are printed with volume numbers (in addition to parts and sections) noted on the cover. These volume numbers do not appear on the title page or on the spine. SuDocs numbers for CFRs should not use the volume number designation. The title, part number and section numbers will serve to uniquely identify and correctly order the parts. When doing serials check-in, continue to include the volume number in the item description but not in the SuDocs number.

I 53.11: - Pacific Northwest Recreation Map Series
This series has multiple agencies: USDI Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; and USDA Forest Service. Over time, these maps have been placed in I 53.11: and A 13.28:. The preferred class is Bureau of Land Management, I 53.11:.
S 1.1: - Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS)
FRUS are classified by presidential administration using the years and the volume number.
Occasionally “retrospective volumes” are published that do not have volume numbers. The agency reported that retrospective volumes address problems in and supplement earlier volumes and fall outside the scope of the original series. They are intentionally not numbered.
For volumes that are unnumbered, use a title word instead of volume number.

SI 8. - National Gallery of Art
The National Gallery of Art is classed within the Smithsonian Institution although it operates independently. Below is some historical background for this classification.
The Joint Resolution that created the National Gallery of Art can be found at 50 Stat 51 (1937). Sec. 2 of the Resolution establishes the NGA as a bureau of the Smithsonian.
From 1937-1969, the annual reports of the National Gallery of Art were issued as part of the Smithsonian Institution annual report. Until 1980, National Gallery of Art annual reports contained the following statement or a variant of it: “The National Gallery of Art, although technically established as a bureau of the Smithsonian Institution, is an autonomous and separately administered organization and is governed by its own Board of Trustees.” After 1980, mention of the organizational connection to the Smithsonian was dropped from the NGA annual report and the NGA makes no reference to the administrative relationship on its current website.
The United States Government Manual for 1980-1982 contained the statement: “The National Gallery, although formally established as a bureau of the Smithsonian Institution, is autonomously governed by its Board of Trustees.” Although current U.S. Government Manuals do not include this language, the U.S. Government Manual continues to show National Gallery of Art as a subordinate unit of the Smithsonian Institution. This same treatment applies to two other independently operating agencies: the John. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
The CRS report Smithsonian Institution: Background and Issues for Congress, CRS Report R44370, updated January 4, 2017, contains the following note (p.3): “It appears that while identified as [Smithsonian Institution] entities, NGA, the Kennedy Center, and [the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars] operate pursuant to their statutory authorities in a manner seemingly independent of [the Smithsonian Institution].”
Based on the continued appearance in the U.S. Government Manual of the National Gallery of Art as a subagency of the Smithsonian, and the presumed continued nominal formal administrative relationship, the classification of SI 8. continues to be used for the National Gallery of Art.

Classing Publications in ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) Database
Classify online publications from the ERIC database based on the issuing body of the publication. Do not base the class on the ERIC cover page.
If the print version was classed under the issuing body use that class in the record for the online version.
Include an additional ERIC class, ED 1.310/2:[no.], in the online version record if microfiche (MF) with the ERIC class was distributed by GPO. Information on distribution may be provided by libraries submitting AskGPO requests; otherwise, determine distribution by searching the ILS and OCLC. If no results are returned in the ILS or OCLC, perform a quick title search in the online Monthly catalog of U.S. government publications (MoCat). When including multiple SuDocs or item numbers in the bibliographic record follow the standard practice of inputting them in chronological order from earliest to latest.
Note: Except in cases where a class is wrong, there is no need to go back and reclass existing online version records under the issuing body if they are already classed with the ERIC number.
